Born in London to German and Austrian refugee parents,  I have been working as a filmmaker, producer and writer since the late 1990s. I enjoy writing screenplays and TV scripts collaboratively and I am also writing a novel. This is based on an original play I wrote called 'Marrano' set in 15th century Spain shortly before the Inquisition. The play was performed at ‘Upstairs at the Gatehouse’.

'Kinder', my first short film which I co-wrote and executive produced was premiered in California at the ‘Newport Beach Film Festival’. It was also screened at a number of international film festivals, including the ‘UK Jewish Film Festival’ where it was selected as one of the finalists for 'Best British Shorts', the 2nd ‘Welcome Refugee Fest’ in Berlin, the Joyce Forum Film Festival in San Diego and was a semi-finalist in the ‘Robinson ‘Short Film Competition’ at Film Pittsburg. Since then Kinder has been widely screened as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival. The film has also been used to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day as part of educational programmes for both adults and school children. Currently, it is available to be streamed on the UK Jewish Film Website.

After graduating from Warwick University with BA Honours in Drama and Theatre Studies, I worked in the field of digital media for ten years, producing, designing and writing interactive training programmes and films for the BBC, the Post Office, Shell, United Distillers and a number of major banks and other blue-chip companies. Concurrently, I attended a weekly creative writing workshop which spurred me on to write full time. Later, I qualified for a place on a feature development workshop at the National Film and Television.

Before producing and writing 'Kinder', I made a number of ‘Celebration Films’ with a special focus on family Heritage. Since then my own family history is strongly reflected in my writing work. I have written a chapter for a book due to be published by Peter Lang Publishers entitled; ‘The Journey Home'. My account is based on filmed interviews and a personal video diary I kept on an organised trip back to my mother’s home town of Berlin. I also produced and edited a filmed interview with my mother documenting her early life and forced emigration from Nazi Germany as a young school girl.

Other projects in development include; Always 27 - an original supernatural TV drama series. Clonyn Castle - a feature film based on a true story about a group of orphans who survived the holocaust and were rehabilitated in a castle in deeply rural Ireland. My second short film called 'Citizen of Nowhere' set in Germany and London is in the film development phase.

I teach a one to one screenwriting foundation course via Zoom.
